Hello world! Welcome to my dream!

Hi, I’m Linda.

I chose the name Sweet Ginger Designs in 2017, reserved the domain and have held on to it. Then I put my dream of creating some sort of business around the things I enjoy on the back burner. Last month, I asked myself why I was waiting? What was I waiting for? And I didn’t come up with anything more than a list of poor excuses.

Off the back burner …

So I made a plan … you know, a list of steps to follow in a logical order so that you proceed in an orderly fashion from point A to point B … and I got started. And for a few days, I was making small, but steady progress through my list. The horse was pulling the cart and all was going as planned. At least that was the case up until I thought, “I have the domain name – maybe I should go ahead and get the gmail.com account, too.”

Apparently, my horse and cart had stopped at the top of a hill. When I found out SweetGingerDesigns was not available for Gmail, I must of jumped and the cart started rolling downhill. Next I looked at Etsy, because I eventually wanted to open a shop for my designs. No – not available there either. But I found acceptable alternatives. Being afraid they might get taken too, I unharnessed the horse and let the cart roll on down the hill.

Setting the wheels back on the road …

After grabbing the Gmail account and setting up an Etsy store, I spent the last few weeks “securing the cart” and adding a few listings to my shop. Now I have come back to retrieve the horse – this blog. My goal is to share my passion for all things “planner” in the hope that some of what have learned will benefit you. I also hope to create a community and learn from my readers.

I have used planners all my life and have always tweaked things to suit me. I’d buy beautiful set of Franklin Covey planner pages and then replace half of them with something I designed. As life changes, needs change and what worked then would not work for me now. There are add-on pages now that I’d never have dreamed of needing back then. And stickers, I never had any stickers for my Franklin Covey planners!

Looking forward …

I hope to be posting at least a couple times a week. Having used various types of planners over the years, I have lots of experience to share. I also plan to share hacks I’ve discovered, share peeks into my own planner(s), and post free printables and stickers.

Note to self: Get back to that list of blog post topics you started …

Hi, I’m Linda

Welcome to the Sweet Ginger Designs blog where I plan to discuss all sorts of planner topics including how to find the “right” functional planner for your needs, tips/tricks/hacks for planners, favorite tools, and creating your own planner pages and dividers. I’m just getting starting and hope you join me to see where this goes.

I have been using some sort of planner in my daily life for 40+ years and have used just about every layout there is and several I’ve made up. I’ve used digital “planners” in the past and have started to experiment with using a digital planner, but I do enjoy a paper planner most. In addition to all that planner experience, I also have a background in continuous process improvement and bring those ideas into the planning strategies I like to discuss.

And last, I do have a small Etsy shop, too.

Drop me a message at Linda@sweetgingerdesigns.com if you have any questions or have a topic you’d like to see covered.

Linda
